You've always wanted to learn watercolour
You’ve binge watched tutorials, maybe attended a workshop and your Pinterest board is full of aspiration projects.
BUT SOMEHOW YOU’RE STILL OVERWHELMED, FRUSTRATED OR ANXIOUS
- The tutorials you watch never seem to target or get to the exact answers you need
- That one-day workshop just wasn’t long enough and
- Your list of aspiration projects now overwhelm you more than excite you
Is it possible to make learning watercolour simple,
in a way that leaves you confident and inspired?
Watercolour Made Simple is an in-depth beginners watercolour course, the kind that could never be completed in a single day workshop - the one where you start overwhelmed and anxious and end feeling transformed, not only in your skill and ability but in your creative confidence and mindset. This go-at-your-own-pace course gives you the freedom to carve time out to learn within the demands of everyday life without making you feel like you're falling behind or losing out.
Here's the thing:
You know that you love creativity and the idea of expressing yourself to connect and enrich your everyday life. Even if you're not feeling confident in your skill right now - with video, slides, a workbook and voiceover guidance I’m walking you through each process as if you were sitting right next to me in my studio.
I will teach you to value your progress in a way that makes you proud of the time you put in:
I'm not asking you to be perfect, to get it right the first time or start a creative business after watching one video. I'm asking you to trust the process and yourself, to be open to making mistakes, to learning and practising and experiencing a full and impactful transformation in your creative journey.
In the comfort of your own home and space, I'm your personal watercolour cheerleader!
There's no dress code and this course will meet you exactly where you are with the only expectation to work with you at your own pace to celebrate your creativity and develop your skills from the ground up.

I'm Jess Meyer, your instructor for this class
I am the illustrator and designer behind Watercolour heart and, “Making every moment a celebration of life and creativity” , is a tagline I aim to live by. From a very young age, I wore creativity like a family heirloom, given to me by my grandmother. I live for special moments and creating, and as a result my business is the product of both passions.
With an honours degree Fine Art, I combine hand-drawn illustration and skills in digital design to work closely with clients creating all of the intricate and thoughtful details that make a design unique. I endorse creativity not just as an activity but as a lifestyle and aim to teach not only technical skills in watercolour illustration but also how to approach creativity with self-confidence and an everyday application.

What supplies will I need for the course? Do I need to have supplies already?
In the Fundamentals module, I educate you on supplies and guide you through my recommendations, so if you do not already have supplies you may want to watch that module first before making your purchases. In essence, you'll need a minimum of: watercolour paint, a round brush, a palette, watercolour paper/pad, water and a tissue/rag.
I’ve bought other Watercolour courses before and have been disappointed. I’m worried this is “just another watercolour course.” How is yours different?
I won't promise to turn you into a professional illustrator overnight or force you to buy supplies you're not comfortable using. You'll need to put in the time and really practice the exercises if you want to see results. You already know that it's all about practice, but I've laser targeted exactly WHAT you need to practice and where to go next. I created this course because I wanted a front-row seat to your transformation and I'm so ready to celebrate you and your creativity. My emphasis is on the process because I believe that's truly where the results lie! This course is truly about finding your confidence in creating so that you can paint with heart in a way that enriches your everyday life!
How does the Facebook community work with the course? I’m not sure I want to be added into another group!
The Facebook group is exclusive to this course and an added bonus! new and old students are invited to the group, while I value my role as your number one cheerleader and instructor, the feedback, support and community you can find in your peers is second-to-none! It'll be a place to share your progress, find your #withheartcommunity and ask any questions you may have as you go through the course.
